Skys Of Scarlet
skys of scarlet started off as an idea i had for a table top RPG story based on a world in the midst of the early 1920s to early 30s.
i wanted to harken to this eras sheer diversity of cultures and technology specifically the early era of flight.
Though when researching for systems i could use i found my choice lacking with only Cthulhu. not to mention there was basically nothing that allowed me to have dynamic dogfighting or flight that was fair to all players.

Skys of Scarlet now had a Base to build off but it still needed a way to perform dogfights. upon research a lot of the systems avaliable have been discontinued or lack avalibility. the Xwing minitures game seemed a good option for its quick rules however the rules were tied with both its theming and its business model. Requiring the purchasing of pre made components and the use of cards.

the game ultimatly fell in popularity due to there being no compatibility between the two editions of the game outside of buying more components. The system itself, i found, could be restructured and reused to fit my purposes.

i wanted to have creative control over the minitures i used for skys of scarlet so i made a small selection that could be 3d printed reliably as well as work in a tabletop setting, Meaning that they could be handled without breaking. overall id say they worked well in testing though for larger prints like the zepplin i would like to make the parts interlocking so no glue is required when assembling them.
creative control over the project also meant making cards to go with the minitures. the cards seen here are two from after a testing session with a group of five.

each card has stats on how the miniture can move as well as its size and what space it has allowing for the player to add their own touches such as improving the Armour, adding their own weapons or support, or simply renaming the miniuture to reflect its uniqueness to the player.
